A McDonald's french fry, a Birkenstock sandal, a PH lamp. Some things are truly one of a kind – even in a sea of similar products.
The same goes for a Hudevad radiator. But if you're not quite sure what makes a Hudevad stand out, here’s your chance to find out.
Back in the 1930s, radiators were large and – quite literally – heavy iron constructions, often made from cast iron in the classic column style. They provided heat, yes, but they were far from aesthetic.
That’s why the skilled blacksmith who founded Hudevad in 1936 decided to rethink the radiator. After several prototypes, the Hudevad Plan radiator was born in 1938.
It featured a completely smooth front surface – something entirely new at the time, and still a defining feature of a true Hudevad radiator.
Hudevad Plan XV radiators blend seamlessly into the Carlsberg Glyptotek, heating the café’s guests without distracting from the art or architecture.
A true Hudevad radiator has a subtle, elegant aesthetic – and that’s no coincidence. Hudevad designs with a particular audience in mind: architects.
Architects have diverse visions, which is why versatility is key. A Hudevad radiator can blend discreetly into the background or act as a statement piece, enhancing the surrounding architecture or interior design.
Hudevad is literally design heating. Our radiators are aesthetic solutions to a practical need. Their flat surface helps reduce dust accumulation – a win for both design purists and allergy sufferers.
But there’s one more detail that defines a true Hudevad: the edge. A subtle 2-millimetre detail that gives just enough depth to elevate the radiator to design icon status.
The signature Hudevad edge – a subtle detail that sets the radiator apart.
A Hudevad radiator is built to last. In addition to visual appeal, functionality and quality are key. That’s why every radiator with the signature design edge is made from 2 mm steel – twice the thickness of most radiators on the market.
Good craftsmanship starts with good materials. Our radiators are designed to retain their shape and function for generations. In fact, we’ve seen Hudevad radiators outlast the buildings they were installed in.
The Integral Horizontal is an evolved version of our classic design – here in an orange finish, adding character without stealing spotlight.
As pioneers in innovative design, we've developed many new models over the years – always with deep respect for our proud design heritage. Today, you’ll find Hudevad design radiators in a wide range of shapes, colours, and energy sources – both water- and electric-based.
And yes, you can still get the original Hudevad Plan radiator. The design remains the same – the only difference is that it’s now significantly more energy-efficient than it was in 1938.
Looking ahead, energy efficiency and sustainability will continue to shape our development process. We are always committed to minimizing our environmental footprint and use responsibly sourced materials and will continue to optimize our production methods. Our goal is to offer radiators that are not only timeless in design but also future-ready in performance. We want our products to reflect a perfect balance between aesthetics, durability and ecological responsibility – without ever compromising the design legacy we’re so proud of.
