Sustainability means different things to different to people. Our approach here at Hudevad is more holistic as we not only focus on one area, but see our products, our company, our employees, our suppliers and our customers as a big part of our effort to have sustainability and to be sustainable. We work continuously with many different areas of sustainability and on this page, you can find much more information on how we act, think, work and dream of being sustainable.
In the world, many are looking towards Denmark when it comes to developing some of the future solutions that will help save our common planet. We have the resources to ensure that the solutions we devise and develop are both quality-assured and sustainable at all levels.
Therefore, we also believe that Denmark must be a pioneering country and come up with some of the important adjustment solutions. And we want to join! The energy sector is one of the most important areas. And Hudevad has both 100% recyclable products and one of the most energy-efficient solutions for renovating homes and offices in the metropolises.
We work consistently with our sustainability goals and have several focus areas where we strive to be - not just good. We want to be the best within our industry, and we believe we have come a long way in the past years. There is still a long way to go before we can say we are "home safe", but we are working, striving and reaching a little bit higher every time the bar is raised.
Hudevad has finished a series of EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) and LCA on more of our horizontal products. This is an important step in the right direction to map our different products' climate footprint.
When creating an EPD, many factors become clear. We have covered lifespan and the possibility of recycling, transport to and from the construction site and our CO₂ emissions during the production of our radiators. These are just some of the countless elements that we, as suppliers to the European and Scandinavian construction industry, have become aware of when creating our first EPDs.
The awareness of these things makes us much more aware and attentive to processors and parts that can be worked on in the future to improve the climate impact of our products and the company.
However, we are proud to be one of the first radiator design companies to have finished the first EPDs, and with the EPDs, we are now able to document and verify that there is real data behind when we talk about our work with sustainability.

EcoVadis is one of the world's leading and most recognized platforms for assessing companies' sustainability performance and is known for their thorough analysis of ESG performance based on a variety of evaluation criteria. The 2024 assessments were recently released, where medals are awarded to companies based on their performance compared to others across industries.
To achieve a medal, a company must achieve high results in all four assessment categories, which are environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, which shows that we are working across our entire organization to improve our environmental and social footprint.
The silver medal places Hudevad in the top 15% of all assessed companies on the EcoVadis platform. The acknowledgement reflects our strong efforts within sustainability and commitment to running a responsible business and is an important milestone in our journey to becoming a more sustainable company. At the same time, it supports our strategy, which is based on strong leadership, high safety and responsible decisions throughout our supply chain.

Intelligently produced radiator heating is not just an energy efficient and sustainable solution. The large surfaces and minimal content of water mean that the temperature is quickly regulated. A rapid adaptation to the environment means lower energy consumption and less CO2, which in the end is a benefit for both the environment and the economy.
Hudevad sells design radiators in high quality, aesthetic and timeless design and not least with high energy efficiency. An energy-efficient heat source is beneficial to virtually all parties. It is an economic benefit for our customers that saves money on heating, it is good for the indoor climate while being gentle on the environment.
We are on a constant search to find more and better ways to make your radiators more energy-efficient, not just the product but all through our supply chain.
The more we can reuse resources already produced the better for us, the climate and our common future. Sometimes a product can be reused for generations when cared for, saved and treasured. A radiator might not be what you consider a treasured item that needs to be handed down in generations - and the fact is that radiators grow tired, they get worn and the steel they are made of will deteriorate and start to rust. Nevertheless, Hudevad radiators are made of quality steel that can last a long time and Hudevad radiators are often still installed when the building reaches its end of life! Even then Hudevad radiators can be recycled and repurposed and made into new items or even a new radiator.
Working with the climate and our immediate environmental impacts has become an important part of our DNA, so we can ensure that we also have a planet to pass on to future generations. Not only are we trying to optimize our production, but of course we have also looked at what other actions we can take, both now and in the future.

We are constantly adding new things to our "green account" and are consistently working on more and new projects and initiatives that can make our heat even greener and help us all towards a more sustainable and less exhausting treatment of our planet.
One way is to be a member of the Green Building Council Denmark that manages the DGNB certifications in Denmark. More and more builds in Denmark are build according to DGNB and more than half of major building projects are now built with a DGNB or other sustainability certification. This is positive - not just for us as contributors to the building industry, but for the environment and our planet.
